System Breakdown
All the cabinets have been meticulously custom built for their specific needs. They are one of a kind, and a stunning site to behold in all their golden, towering glory.
The high end and upper mids are contained in a single cabinet with all 4 10s and both horns. This cabinet is a bass reflex design with 4 drivers and 2 slot ports. The compression drivers and horns are effectively sealed so the tuning for this cabinet is for the 10” mid bass drivers.
The mids are housed in a single dual-driver cabinet cabinet. This is a bass reflex with dual slot ports.
Each subwoofer is a dual-driver enclosure, matching the design of the mids but allowing us to add more subs in pairs.
Each cabinet is a heavily reinforced bass reflex design with a slot port, tuned down to 24 Hz
The audio equipment rack is the most complicated build in the sound, despite not being a speaker. The exterior designs are all carved into the surface, and the doors double as signs during performances.
The rack is 42U and includes storage space for all the cables
The impact! soundsystem
The IMPACT! Sound is a three-way system with 18,000 watts driving a tower of power 11 feet tall.
High end: 2 PRV Audio compression drivers in horn waveguides
Upper mids: 4 PRV Audio 10” high midrange drivers
Mids: 2 15” Peavey Black Widow drivers
Subs: 4 dual 21” cabinets each with 2 Dayton Audio 21” subwoofer drivers for a total of 8 subs
To power the Sound we have a custom build rack enclosure that holds all the equipment. In the rack we run:
3 Behringer 6000 watt amps
3-Way Crossover
4-channel Equalizer
Compressor/Limiter
Power conditioner
The Impact! Soundsystem is designed to thump, there’s no doubt, but the construction also allows for delicate and articulate vocals. The mids are warm and punchy, and the instruments are clear.
